According to 2018 Activity Report of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), many incidents were not broadcasted through “media blackouts” following the authority given to the council to monitor internet broadcasts as well. The report indicates 164 media blackout decrees issued by courts against various media institutes and persons within one year, further stating that an “information exchange” was made with the courts towards banning the broadcasts of such incidents.
