A new document has emerged in the case concerning the March 19 operations, during which 120 people were detained for attempting to make a press statement in front of Cevahir Shopping Mall in Şişli on March 27, 2025. According to the minutes submitted to the court by the Istanbul Police Department Security Branch, there was no decision by the Istanbul Governor’s Office to ban any meetings or demonstrations on the day and in the area where the detentions took place. At the first hearing, the court asked the Governor’s Office whether there was a ban decision but received no response. The second hearing of the case, which includes three lawyers among the defendants, was held at the Istanbul 71st Criminal Court of First Instance. The document confirmed that the detentions were made without any ban decision.
