İleri News Editor-in-Chief Doğan Ergün was sentenced to 11 months and 20 days in prison due to the news published in 2014, that allegedly contained audio recordings between then-Prime Minister Erdoğan and Milliyet Daily’s owner Erdoğan Demirören. The Istanbul Anatolian 45th Criminal Court of First Instance deferred the announcement of the verdict in the sentence given due to “insulting the President.”
