"Non-Violent Action" Workshops aim to bring everyone asking "What can we do?" together, in these days of dire need for resistance and solidarity. The workshop is a collaboration between Nonviolent Education and Research Center and Initiative for Freedom of Expression, and is based on the discussion in Gene Sharp's "Politics of Non-Violent Action": How can we take action without resorting to violence?
Each month on the third Sunday, we come together at Kadıköy Kargart on 15:00 to brainstorm and to learn more about our rights, with the participation of different activists from NGOs, scholars and lawyers.
On our first meeting, we will be drawing a conceptual framework with Birsen Atakan and Hilal Demir of Nonviolent Education and Research Center: We will be discussing the concept of nonviolence, the difference between civil disobedience and nonviolent action, and designate a roadmap for our workshop series together.
Bring the pessimism of your mind and optimism of your will!
