Giresun Governorate banned the staging of the play, “Toros Monster” by Aziz Nesin. Turkish Theaters Union reacted against the ban on the staging that was planned to be held on July 13th in Halkalı Village of Keşap District in Giresun. The statement had the title, “We wish there was humour.” “We would have liked Aziz Nesin to have a story, we wished these were part of the humour. However, it’s not. Not even dark humour. This situation our country is in is our bitter truth. Now we leave aside the smile that’s frozen on his face and say: When the matter is theater and bans, he who laughs last laughs best! For now, we smile with the intelligence of Aziz Nesin,” said the union.
