139 scientists have made criminal complaints against themselves by sending an email to Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in order to support the “Academics for Peace.” The academics, including world-renowned names like Seyla Benhabib, Noam Chomsky, Etienne Balibar, Michael Löwy and Nancy Fraser; indicated that a peace claim facing a charge of “supporting terrorism” is “absurt and ridiculous.” Indicating that they have also signed the petition, the academics stated, “We demand to be evaluated as a signatory of the petition.”
