The Tobacco and Alcohol Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry imposed an administrative fine of 82,244 lira on 67-year-old retired Çaykur worker Şükrü Mısırlıoğlu, who lived in the Hopa district of Artvin, over photos of a rakı table that he shared on his social media account. The ministry considered the posts to be advertisements for alcoholic beverages. Mısırlıoğlu’s lawyer appealed the fine, saying there was no advertising purpose or income.
