The Tekirdağ Provincial Mufti’s Office launched an administrative investigation into İ.İ., the imam of Erkaynak Mosque, after he led a prayer at the opening of a liquor store in Çerkezköy. The imam said he learned during the ceremony that the business was a liquor store and left the area after realizing this. Following the investigation, İ.İ. resigned as the Çerkezköy district chair of Diyanet-Sen.
