As part of an investigation into the Bolu Municipality, Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP Council Member Aydan Özdemir were taken into custody on April 10, 2026. It was reported that the operation was conducted on charges of “extortion” and that the case file contained allegations regarding donations collected through a foundation affiliated with the municipality.
