On April 7, 2026, raids were carried out on numerous homes in Hakkari and Ağrı, citing Newroz celebrations as the reason. While six young people were detained in central Hakkari, five individuals detained in Çukurca and Yüksekova were released after giving their statements. In raids conducted in central Ağrı and its districts, 21 people were detained. It was reported that children were among those detained.
