Construction-Work Union Organizing Officer Deniz Gider was taken into custody from his home on the morning of February 13. The union stated that Gider was taken on the instructions of the prosecutor’s office on the grounds that he “did not give a statement” and was taken to the Gebze Courthouse. The union stated that they regularly follow up on the cases filed against them. Gider had also been detained during a GBT inquiry in March 2025 and sent to Kartal Prison due to a finalized prison sentence. This sentence was handed down as a result of a lawsuit filed by the employer during the resistance carried out by TekYol Plus Yapı workers for their wages.
