At least 8 people were detained during house raids conducted in Van and Siirt on the morning of February 10. In Van, police detained Abdullah Görkan, Ozan Dayan, and Hamdullah Kaya during a house raid and took them to the Van Provincial Police Headquarters. Police raided the home of Lorin Aryen Turğut, a member of the DEM Party Youth Assembly, in the Köyiçi neighborhood of Edremit district at 6:00 a.m., breaking down the door to enter. Turğut was not at home. Police forced family members to lie on the floor, threatened his sister with arrest, and beat his brother with a gun butt. It was reported that his brother suffered a fracture to the head as a result of the beating. In Siirt’s Congbayır neighborhood, five people, including a child, were detained during house raids on the grounds that they had participated in protests against the attacks on Rojava. The police took those detained to the Siirt Police Headquarters.
