The prosecutor in the trial of manager Ayşe Barım, who is accused of directing artists during the Gezi Park protests, presented his opinion on the merits of the case. The prosecutor amended the charge of “aiding an attempt to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey” in the indictment and requested that Barım be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for “attempting to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey.” The prosecutor alleged that Barım was involved in planning and organizing activities through artists during the 2013 Gezi Park protests. The case file also referred to the Supreme Court of Appeals 3rd Criminal Chamber’s ruling numbered 2023/12611 Esas, 2023/6359 Karar. It was reported that the final hearing of the case would be held on February 11.
