Former Medya A.Ş. General Manager Dr. İpek Elif Atayman, who was arrested within the scope of the investigation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, made an individual application to the Constitutional Court. Atayman’s lawyers stated that the arrest decision lacked concrete evidence and violated her fundamental rights such as the presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial. The application also emphasized that Atayman was held in solitary confinement for 75 days, then transferred to Afyonkarahisar Prison in handcuffs and prevented from seeing his family.
