Human Rights Association (IHD) made a press statement in Sultanahmet Square on the 39th anniversary of its foundation.
When the police banned the banner reading “We have been against homophobia and transphobia for 39 years”, all the banners were turned upside down in protest.
The statement called for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue, sick prisoners, freedom of expression and the involvement of civil society in the process.
