Disciplinary threats against the cadets of the Turkish Military Academy who took photos with lieutenants dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces for chanting the slogan “We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal” at the graduation of the Military Academy on August 30 last year have come to the fore. The school administration checked the phones of the students who met, greeted and took photos with the dismissed lieutenants in Istanbul and Ankara and deleted the images. The students were warned “Don’t let it happen again”. Similarly, some lecturers were also warned. These developments, following the dismissal of five lieutenants and three commanders for shouting slogans in 2023, have brought allegations of profiling and pressure to the agenda again.
