Sentences of those sentenced to below five years of imprisonment, approved by the appeal court, were saved onto the National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP). The case lawyers organized a press meeting and reacted against the lack of conduction of the objection process. The lawyers underlined that the lawsuit “is not legal, but political” and they stated that it is only a matter of time before eight defendants are imprisoned once again after the appeal court verdict. “It is only a significant detail of the terrifying picture in Turkey that our friends will be re-imprisoned due to a crime that does not exist. Whereas free news, free information and free interpretation is a must in a democratic society,” the lawyers stated in the press meeting.
