6 of those detained in the press statement made on February 3, 2021 in Izmir in support of the trustee-rector protests at Boğaziçi University were charged with “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911”, “insulting” and “resisting to prevent duty” in the lawsuit filed against them at the Izmir 49th Criminal Court of First Instance. There is another lawsuit against 3 of the names to be prosecuted on the charge of “insulting the President” for the same protest. In addition, one of the people who were sued was Erdoğan Akdoğdu, a member of the Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD), who followed the detainment procedures that day.
