Bitlis Journalists Association President and Bitlis News Editor-in-Chief Sinan Aygül, who was tried and sentenced due to a news article published in 2015, stood trial again on the grounds that he violated the terms of the deferral of the verdict. Bitlis 2nd Assize Court sentenced the journalist to a judicial fine of 16,660 TL on the charge of “terrorist organisation propaganda.”
