Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office started an investigation against Antalya Bar Association Chairman Polat Balkan due to “praising the crime and the criminal” through two social media posts. The investigation against Balkan was based on his retweet of the news published in T24 on February 19, 2016 with the headline, “Ulaş Bardakçı was killed today 44 years ago: The polestar of THKP-C” as well as his post that said, “Everyone must have a Deniz. Happy birthday Deniz Gezmiş” on February 28, 2021.
