In the lawsuit filed against Oda TV Ankara News Director Müyesser Yıldız and TELE1 Ankara Representative İsmail Dükel due to “disclosing confidential information on the security of the state,” Ankara 26th Assize Court sentenced Yıldız to 3 years and seven months and Dükel to 1 year and 15 days of imprisonment.
The journalists were charged due to using the information they obtained from sergeant Erdal Baran in their publications. Müyesser Yıldız has stood trial for the first time after remaining under arrest for 155 days and was released on November 9.
