An investigation was started against former Diyarbakır Bar Association Chairman Ahmet Özmen and the association’s executive board members. The investigation was opened within Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code, based on the statements made by the association between the years 2016 and 2018. The accusations were based on the statements of the association, entitled, “The Armenian Deportation” and “It Is A Shame To Penalize Expression ‘Kurdistan’” as well as the association report on the civilians killed and injured by an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Kanireş region of Oğul village in Hakkari.
