Applications of academics Baskın Oran and İbrahim Kaboğlu at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding the lawsuit filed against them in 2005 due to the “Minorities and Their Cultural Rights Report” they prepared in 2004 as they were members of the Prime Ministry Human Rights Advisory Council. The court decided that the academics are under pressure with constraint threat of investigation and that their “freedoms of expression and thoughts” were violated; convicting Turkey.
