A lawsuit was filed against the book, ”These Women Ate Me Up” (”Bu Kadınlar Yedi Bitirdi Beni”) by writer Ersan Pekin due to ”obscenity” in accordance with Article 226/2 of the Turkish Criminal Code (TCK). The book depicts a fictional nymphomaniac protagonist, and was previously declared ”inappropriate” by the Ministry of Family and Social Services – being placed with a +18 warning on the shelves. The first hearing of the lawsuit filed with a claim of imprisonment for up to three years will be held at Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance on September 22.
