The Twitter account of Aydın Aydoğan, who was wounded by a tear gas shell shot by the police during the Gezi Park protests, was closed.
One post of Aydoğan had been carried to the judicature by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK). The post, published on 19 April 2017, stated, “Our fight, together with the Gezi soul, will continue until it forms a body; just like out fight during the Gezi process.” On 21 April 2017, Ankara 1st Criminal Judicature of Peace had approved the verdict of measure on banning access to the content published by the account, claiming that they “praise terrorism, incites towards violence and crime” and “threatening public order and national security.” Aydoğan’s account was suspended by Twitter 20 days ago, upon the verdict.
