The application made by Ebru Dinçer, whose face and body were burned in the “Back to Life” operation organized at Bakırköy Prison on December 19, 2000, made at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) was concluded. The court issued that the “torture ban” was violated and Turkey was convicted to pay a moral indemnity of 20 thousand Euros. The verdict pointed out that the lawsuit on the matter was not concluded for 18 years.
