The application made by rights advocate Özlem Dalkıran, who is prosecuted within the Büyükada Case, at the Constitutional Court (AYM) was concluded. The court unanimously decided that Dalkıran’s right to personal freedom and safety, protected by Article 19 of the Turkish Constitution, was violated and issued 40 thousand Turkish Liras of moral compensation to be paid to her. Dalkıran had been arrested in July 2017 together with eight other rights advocates and remained under arrested until October 2017, being sentenced to 1 year and thirteen months of imprisonment at the end of her prosecution.
