Constitutional Court (AYM) issued that the freedom of expression of journalist Hayko Bağdat, who was sentenced to 1160 TL judicial fine due to “insult” after a public lawsuit filed against him following the complaint of former Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek, was violated. Bağdat has been penalised due to reacting against Gökçek targeting Turkish-German Co-Chair of the German Greens Party, Cem Özdemir, with racist expressions. 9,150 TL moral compensation will be paid to Bağdat.
