Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu launched the 2020 Rights Violations Report. According to the report, the rights to life of 3362 people were violated in a year, 2427 of which were through work murders and 300 of which were femicides. According to the data shared by Tanrıkulu, 38 people died in prison and 1855 people faced torture. 3534 incidents of torture were announced in a year. 38 protests and demonstrations were banned in a year, 753 protests and demonstrations were intervened and 2123 people were detained in total. 44 people were arrested, 294 people were convicted in lawsuits filed due to violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations.
