Defendant Erhan Tuncel was sentenced to a total of 99 years and six months of imprisonment due to “willful attempt of premeditated homicide against six victims through the use of bombs,” “damaging property,” “attempting to aid the assassination of Hrant Dink” and “membership to an armed criminal organisation.” Tuncel was arrested and was sent to prison. Defendant Yasin Hayal was sentenced to 7 years and six months of imprisonment due to “establishing and managing an armed criminal organisation.” Defendant Ogün Samast was sentenced to 2 years and six months of imprisonment due to “armed criminal organisation membership.” The other four defendants were sentenced to various penalties; two defendants were acquitted.
