"Don't remain silent, give a hand" said Ayşe on the TV show she called in. This teacher who wanted to draw attention to the destruction and deaths in the Southeast, was first subjected to lynch on social media, and then to an investigation. Supporters of peace who personally witnessed to what Ayşe was telling, denounced themselves on a civil disobedience action organized simultaneously in Ankara, İzmir and İstanbul, on January 13th. A law suit was opened against the protestors on April 26, and was joined to a new case that was opened against Ayşe and the executive producer of the show, on the 27th. The lawsuit not only a gross violation of freedom of expression, but also aims to obscure the facts.
The first hearing of the case of Ayşe Çelik and her supporters is on September 23, at 9:50 in Bakırköy Courthouse, İstanbul. Don't remain silent, give a hand!
