Ministry of the Interior announced investigations opened against 266 people between the dates 9-16 July 2018 due to their social media posts. In these investigations, opened after the examinations on 459 social media accounts, the users were charged with ‘making illegal organization propaganda,’ ‘insulting government authorities,’ ‘incitement towards resentment, hatred and hostility’ as well as ‘intending against the indivisible integrity of state.’
