In the lawsuit with Özgür Gündem Substitute Editors-In-Chief on trial due to “making terrorist organization propaganda,” eight journalists and writers and one person, whose letter written from prison was published, were sentenced to imprisonment.
Istanbul 14th Assize Court sentenced Hüseyin Aykol to 3 years and nine months of imprisonment as well as Faruk Eren, Fehim Işık, Celal Başlangıç, İhsan Çaralan and Celalettin Can to 1 year and three months of imprisonment each. Dilşah Kocakaya, who was on trial due to her letter, was also sentenced to 1 year and three months of imprisonment. The sentences against Can and Kocakaya were not deferred.
