The Constitutional Court has ruled on two violations of the Law on Misdemeanors, which the police frequently resort to to prevent the use of “freedom of expression”. The court ruled that imposing fines on members of the Construction Workers Union for violating the Law of Misdemeanor due to “disturbing the environment” through “hanging posters” and “press statements” was a “violation of the principle of legality of penalties”. In one of the applications, the court ruled that the police prevention against the workers’ statements about their salaries was a “violation of the Right to Meeting and Demonstration”.
