As part of an investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in 2021, many women, including trade union members, civil society activists and politicians, were detained. Within the scope of the investigation, in which detainment warrants were issued for 24 women, the President of Rosa Women’s Association, Adalet Kaya, was detained. The association, which has been operating in Diyarbakır since 2018, has been subjected to systematic judicial harassment since 2020, while its directors and members have been detained and arrested in two consecutive years of police raids.
