In the investigation conducted in Mersin on those dismissed with Statutory Decrees of the State of Emergency was concluded with, “no evidence, no necessity for prosecution.” Following the investigation conducted by Mersin Public Prosecutor’s Office on 96 educators, 47 of whom are members of the Education and Science Workers’ Union (Eğitim-Sen), a verdict of non-prosecution was announced. “The summaries compiled following the investigation as well as the evaluation made considering precedents of the Court of Cassation, no sufficient evidence was found that could be reflected on the investigation file to file a public lawsuit.” Now it’s a curiosity whether the public workers, who were dismissed from their work without knowing what they were accused of and against whom the Prosecutor could not find anything to charge, will go back to their jobs or not.
