Checks and Balances Network (DDA) examined the “Judiciary in the Presidential Government System” in the 12th newsletter of the Democracy Barometer Reports series. In conclusion, the report stated, “Together with the transition into the Presidential government system, many changes have occurred in Turkey that would regress the system of checks and balances, which was already vulnerable and faulty, even further in the judiciary.” The report is based on measurements on “judicial independence, merit, relations with the execution” between the years 2015 and 2020.
