1st Criminal Chamber (Appeal) of Diyarbakır Regional Court reversed the 10-year imprisonment sentence issued against police officer Süleyman Esenboğa, who killed 16-year-old Mazlum Turan in Kızıltepe, Mardin. The court decided that there is no reason for penalisation.
In the prosecution at Mardin 5th Assize Court, Turan was decided to have been “targeted” and shot, therefore the defendant police officer had been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment due to “homicide following willful injury.”
