The Constitutional Court denied the application for “permission to prosecute whoever is responsible” on the death of Berkin Elvan, who was killed during the Gezi Park Protests. The Constitutional Court decided that the investigation file is being duly and effectively conducted, and that other public officers are not needed to be added to the prosecution process at the moment.
The Elvan Family had previously applied to the Constitutional Court as well with the claim for the former Security Director and Governor to be prosecuted, but the application was found to lack “basis.”
