Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu made a statement on the demonstrations planned to be organized by People’s Democratic Party (HDP) starting from Istanbul until Diyarbakır in fifteen provinces in order to point out the hunger strikes conducted by Leyla Güven and other prisoners. “The one who makes you walk is not a man,” Soylu said.
Before the demonstration organized at Istiklal Street, Taksim Square was taken under blockade. The police did not let MPs march towards the Galatasaray Square. HDP Co-Chair Sezai Temelli said, “This is the picture of isolation.” Following the press statement, MPs performed a sit-in protest for a while.
