A lawsuit was filed against former vocal soloist of Grup Munzur, artist Şenol Akdağ, who was detained on November 19th in Istanbul and was arrested three days later due to “illegal organisation membership.” The indictment showed leftist-socialist press reporting the news of Akdağ’s detainment and arrest as evidence for “illegal organisation membership.” It further claimed that Akdağ made “illegal organisation propaganda” with the concert organised to commemorate 1968 generation leader İbrahim Kaypakkaya, with further crime elements including the artist’s detainments in 1993 and 1007. The first hearing of the case will be held on February 20, 2020 at Istanbul 34th Assize Court.
