Access ban against news with headline “Erdoğan wants such judiciary”

Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Criminal Judicature of Peace brought an access ban against the news article written by Cumhuriyet Daily reporter Alican Uludağ with the title, “Erdoğan wants such judiciary.” The news reported the reasons presented by three different courts on the sentence of 698 thousand TL compensation issued against Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to be paid to President Erdoğan due to Kılıçdaroğlu’s statements on the Isle of Man.

The judicature claimed that “when the method of coverage is considered, the content can not be evaluated as press freedom.” “When the Criminal Judge of Peace interferes with the ‘method of coverage’, there ends press freedom. Are we going to ask the judges and prosecutors on how we are going to present a content to the reader? If this is so, let them publish the newspapers,” the journalist said.
